1. Increased steel tube thickness
In our CNG cylinder production process, we have found that the cylinder wall thickness will typically decrease by 0.3mm after heat treatment, internal polishing and external polishing. If the initial steel tube thickness is equal to that of desired cylinder wall thickness, the final cylinders will not have the necessary thickness after processing, which may result in hazards and dangers after long term use.
To avoid potential dangers, we begin with steel tubes with thickness 0.3mm thicker than the desired cylinder wall thickness for cylinder production. This helps guarantee our CNG cylinder quality.

2. Superior raw material quality
The steel tubes for making our CNG cylinder are acquired from Xingcheng Steel Corporation. We determine chemical composition of incoming raw steel materials for our steel tube production, so as to ensure that only materials with qualifying properties are accepted as raw materials. In addition, other materials for gas cylinder production including glass fiber, resin constituents, and quenching liquid are also acquired from trusted manufacturers.

3. Ultrasonic thickness test and flaw detection for cylinder bottom

According to the Chinese national and international related standards, the gas cylinder bottom is required to undergo air tight test only to test the bottom fusion quality. During our years of CNG cylinder production and testing experience, we have found that this air tight test cannot effectively detect cylinder bottom defects, such as tiny cracks and insufficient bottom thickness, when the bottom thickness is over 3mm. Therefore, in order to avoid any defects in our gas cylinders, we conduct ultrasonic thickness tests and ultrasonic flaw detection of our cylinder bottoms to make sure all our CNG cylinders are qualified and to eliminate any risk of explosion caused by insufficient bottom thickness, bottom micro-cracks, etc.

4. Ultrasonic test and magnetic particle inspection for whole cylinder
According to Chinese national and international related standards, a gas cylinder requires only ultrasonic testing. However, in our CNG cylinder production and testing process, we found that ultrasonic testing is able to detect and find out the flaws and defects of the cylinder body but cannot detect any flaws at both cylinder ends. Therefore, we use high precision magnetic particle inspection equipment to conduct another inspection of our CNG cylinders, so as to avoid gas cylinders with flaws at the ends which can be caused by improper heat treatment or inconsistence in raw material quality.
